Calathea concinna 'Freddie' is an easygoing member of the Maranaceae family. Its light green leaves are striped with dark green veins in a zebra-like pattern, giving it a striking appearance. Like all "prayer plants", Calathea 'Freddie' is highly reactive to light, and has a habit of folding its leaves up at night. Maintain indoor temperatures above 15 degrees and avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes. For best results, use a general houseplant fertilizer every four weeks during the spring and summer. No fertilizer is necessary during the winter when plant growth naturally slows.
